What motivated you to start the company and what is it all about?

BookMyBai.com was conceptualized when we, the founders, wanted to hire a domestic help for ourselves and we found out that there is no organized way to hire such staff. The market is flooded with rogue maid bureaus who are mostly fly-by-night and take the customers for a ride. We realized the market potential of this business can be huge considering that domestic helps are a part and parcel of every home in India. BookMyBai is an aggregator of domestic helps. We cater to 4 different categories including maids, baby sitter, caretakers and cook. Our USP is the pre-recorded video interviews through which the employers can watch the interviews at the comfort of their home and decide who they want to hire without even meeting the maid. This also helps the maids prevent waste of time in terms of travelling to the interview venue.

What are your marketing strategies? Do you take help of Social platforms to promote ? Which channels have been very effective? Which marketing channels have been super flops?

This type of business involves two different type of marketing strategies. One for the employers and one for the domestic helps. For the domestic helps we usually have feet-on-street type of marketing. We are not concerned about the marketing strategy for the employers because usually we have more organic demand than we can cater to. Social platforms help us create a brand name and that is where it rests. We get most of our clientele through word-of-mouth marketing. We believe that is the best way to grow organically where one happy client refers us to 10 of his/her friends and family. We have not tried enough marketing channels to comment on which one is a super flop. But I believe we will never get into-the-face type of marketing like hoardings, television since by marketing we can never generate demand. This is a type of business where a customer automatically contacts us when he has a demand

Google ad-words was very relevant when it came to paid marketing. Its helped us build the initial traction.

We never faced any challenge in promoting the website. However the bigger challenge was to convince the client of its brand and also assuring that they are working with a corporate. Once the trust is laid out then the client is quite comfortable in referring us

What is the current traction? Can you share some numbers on Usage and Revenue?

We will be closing this financial year with a revenue of Rs. 2 crores and FY16-17 at Rs. 25 crores
